The curriculum at Wetherby High School aims to cater for all students and to place them on the correct individual pathway to achieve their full potential. We suggest that year 12 students’ study 3 A levels or BTEC equivalent. There will be 4 / 5 lessons per subject per week which is backed up by weekly academic mentoring sessions and a personal development curriculum. We have dedicated learning environments with specialised facilities to encourage independent learning.
Students are able to chose from a variety of A level subjects, some of which may include coursework but all are examined at the end of Year 13. Students are also able to choose from a range of BTEC subjects which are worth the same UCAS points as A levels and now include examinations which need to be passed to gain the qualification and coursework assignments. All students are supported in their choice of A levels and BTECs.
