This summer term Wetherby High School will be focusing on giving back to the local community by raising money for our house charities: The Jane Tomlinson Appeal (Tomlinson House), Martin House Children’s Hospice (Bremner House), St Gemma’s Hospice (Robinson House), Young lives vs Cancer (Trueman House).Like many others, these four charities have seen their fundraising fall as a result of the pandemic and as a school we are committed to supporting them wherever possible.Over the course of the next few weeks students will be encouraged to take part in a number of events to raise money for these charities: Wednesday 14th [...]
NHS Poetry Competition Winners A huge well done to the following students for excellence in poetry skills! Alex P, Amos PDW and Emma H all wrote wonderful poetry that was entered into Wetherby High School’s NHS Poetry Competition. 1st Place (winning a £10 voucher) = Alex P 2nd Place (winning a £5 voucher) = Amos PDW 3rd Place (winning a £5 voucher) = Emma H In order to win a poetry competition like this, entries needed to be of an incredibly high standard, including: language and structural features, imagination and lots of empathy for those working in the NHS [...]
