It was lovely to welcome our Year 11 students back to school to receive their GCSE results. The excitement in the room was so wonderful to experience, and the happiness on the student's faces was a joy to see. We are so proud of all of our students and we wish them luck as they start their Post-16 endeavours.

Our final event for our charity fundraising saw the whole school walk 10 miles from Wetherby High to Stockeld Park, to Sicklinghall, to Spofforth Cricket Club (where we ate lunch) then back to school. We were joined by some ex year 11's too. It was a hot day so everyone who participated did extremely well to complete the distance. There were a lot of tired feet and aching muscles when we finished but how proud we all felt knowing that we had raised a lot of money for the four house charities. [...]
Sports Day 2023 was an event filled with excitement and fun. The day promised us a dry morning and rain at lunchtime so we were under time constraints to fit all the events in. The rain nearly held off for the whole thing but the final few events were a bit wet. However the enthusiasm of the spectators was not dampened at all with the school supporting their competitors with gusto. The ever popular, YMCA, led by ex Year 11 students, was a highlight, as was the tug of war and relays. Well done to everyone who took part and [...]
On June 29th we welcomed our Year 11 students back into the building for one final time before the summer for the 2023 Prom. Themed as ‘A Night at the Movies' students arrived not only looking like movie stars but being dropped off in some fantastic cars. We had a Lamborghini, a Mustang, a Rolls Royce, a Porsche and two HUGE tractors. Students were given the red-carpet experience on the way into the building, entering the main hall underneath their very own movie theatre sign. The popcorn and pick n mix was devoured in its masses. Students were given a [...]

We had a lovely day welcoming Tockwith Primary School to the first of our 'A Day in the Life of a High School Student' days. The Year 5 students had a great time learning about witches in History, doing poetry in English, solving math's problems, playing rounders and they rounded off the day making badges and engraving pencils in DT. It was a great day all round. We really enjoyed the visit. [...]
On Wednesday 3rd May we had our annual cultural day celebration. It was bigger and better than last year, with more students involved and more cultures and nationalities represented. Each coaching group was tasked with creating a display board for one country that someone in school is linked to. The displays were magnificent. Stalls were set up, students were dressed up to represent their countries and music was played out across the school. The highlights of the cultural celebration were definitely the impromptu dance in the main hall, and the opportunity for the students to sample a variety of food and [...]
Wow, what a couple of days Year 7 had on their residential to Kingswood. They got involved in so many exciting activities, including Zip-lining, Abseiling, Crate Stacking, Low Ropes, Scrapheap Challenge and Night Lining. Thank you, Year 7 for making this trip so enjoyable and well done for showing such resilience and great character. We are all proud of how you handled this experience and hope you look back on these few days with fond memories.
Congratulations to our Year 11 Food Technology students who have been busy over the last few weeks creating delicious meals as part of their practical exam. The students worked really hard during their exam and presented food that looked and smelt amazing. Well done to everybody!
