This summer term Wetherby High School will be focusing on giving back to the local community by raising money for our house charities: The Jane Tomlinson Appeal (Tomlinson House), Martin House Children’s Hospice (Bremner House), St Gemma’s Hospice (Robinson House), Young lives vs Cancer (Trueman House).
Like many others, these four charities have seen their fundraising fall as a result of the pandemic and as a school we are committed to supporting them wherever possible.
Over the course of the next few weeks students will be encouraged to take part in a number of events to raise money for these charities:

  • Wednesday 14th July – During the morning the Go Purple Run will be taking place, this will be a run around the school grounds and students who wish to take part have volunteered to do 1, 2 or 3 laps.
  • Wednesday 14th July – During coaching in the afternoon selected students will be competing for their house in a relay race. Non competing students will be lining the route to show their support for the competitors.
  • Thursday 22nd July – Whole school sponsored walk, students will walk in their coaching group as they leave the school grounds and walk to Spofforth, across to Sicklinghall and then back to school. More information will be communicated with families at a later date.

If you wish to find out more about our fundraising, make a donation or wish to sponsor your child, we have created a JustGiving page which can be accessed at the following address: www.justgiving.com/team/WetherbyHighSchool
