A fantastic evening celebrating our students’ achievements of the last 12 months. It was wonderful to see so many parents/carers, siblings and guests pack the hall for our presentation evening. There was a real buzz in the hall and the excitement was building back stage.

Mr King opened the evening and Ms Jefferson welcomed everyone into school and highlighted how well so many of our pupils have performed.

During the evening we celebrated 100% Attendance and recognised students in coaching that consistently show resilience, motivation and leadership. Every subject awarded 1 Student from each year group who had excelled in their learning over the course of the year, with 1 Student recognised as the overall school winner.

The evening continued with Mr Jarman presenting ‘The Character Award’ to S M followed by the House awards being presented to J H for Bremner, B B for Robinson, H G for Tomlinson and Y H for Trueman.

Our Guest Speakers for the evening were Leeds Rhino’s player Tom Briscoe and Gareth Cook from the Leeds Rhino’s Foundation. Tom talked about his career to date and the challenges he has faced so far.

We had the pleasure of listening to the wonderful violin performance from L B and a beautiful song from Z H. Both performed brilliantly to a packed Main Hall full of Parents/Carers and the community.

The evening finished with The Governor’s Award, our most prestigious award, which was presented by our Chair of Governor’s, Mrs Bentley, who expressed the pride the Governors they felt for our pupils’ endeavours and successes. The 2 awards were awarded to L H & H A for their diligence, character, attitude to learning and their involvement within the school community as well as outside organisations.

It was a warm but fantastic evening celebrating a very successful and busy year for our Student’s and the Wetherby High School community.
