Winter Showcase
On Tuesday 3rd December Wetherby High school staff, students and families were treated to an afternoon of music and acting to celebrate the start of the festive season.
The afternoon began with a beautiful piano medley as the audience entered and took their seats creating a lovely warm atmosphere.
Solo performances from students in year 11 of songs from Frozen and Anastasia wowed the audience as did a duet of popular song ‘Yours’ by Ella Henderson.
A year 10 singer did a beautiful rendition of ‘Oh Holy Night’ to really put us into the festive spirit. Christmas lanterns created by the Culture Club at school were also a beautiful addition to the event.
Two fun acting performances by Wetherby High School Theatre Company and an Endeavour Musical Theatre group were a real treat.
First up was the Bear and the Hare accompanied by the song ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and then a spoof of a primary school style Nativity Play.
A brand new band has been formed from Year 9 musicians and they played ‘Run Run Rudolph’ much to the delight of our crowd. Finally the show ended with a sneak peak of the opening number of our school musical ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.
What a great way to start off the Christmas season!
