One of the key strengths of the ethos of Wetherby High School is how we work together as ‘partners in learning’ to ensure that every child has the support of their coach, teachers, and parents/carers to challenge and support them to be the best they can be.

Clear communication is key to a successful working relationship between school and home. We are always looking for ways of developing this communication to ensure that the child is at the centre of it.

We are pleased to announce that from September 2025, we will be using the ‘Class Charts’ app as our primary source of written communication between school and home. The Class Charts app can be downloaded and used by both parents/carers and students and is designed specifically for schools with the following features:

Messaging – Staff will use the messaging service as a replacement for email. This will allow coaches to share key information with you through the app. You will also be able to contact your child’s coach through the app.

Announcements – This will replace the text messages that are currently sent out with key information. The app will allow staff to share key announcements for cohorts of students, i.e. information about trips or events taking place in school.

Timetables – Parents/Carers and students will be able to see their school timetable on the app.

Rewards and recognition – Staff will be able to share with you the positive choices that students are making. This will appear on your app through your child’s ‘activity feed’ which will list the student’s achievements.

Online Learning – The app will be the place where teaching staff set the students their Online Learning. Students will be able to access the work and resources through the app and will also be able to upload it once they have completed the work for the teacher to view. Through the parent app you will be able to monitor what work has been set, is due for completion and has been completed, allowing you to support your child with their work at home.
