Academic Curriculum

We work hard to ensure the subjects we teach match the interests of our students

The curriculum is delivered by specialist teachers who are passionate about their areas of expertise and the children they teach. They provide learning experiences that inspire, and children enjoy.

The content, timetabling and delivery of our academic curriculum is carefully considered to ensure all children can reach their full potential.

At Key Stage 3, the curriculum allows exploration of a wide range of subjects, followed by developing of deeper knowledge, understanding and skills, and then moving onto mastery of a more personalised curriculum at Key stage 4.

At Wetherby High School, we have developed an approach to learning that enables us to ‘teach to the top’ and therefore stretch and challenge all students to reach their own best standard. The Learning Line, running through all lessons, means students understand how best to learn and develop good learning habits.

“Pupils benefit from high-quality learning experiences. The school has introduced the ‘learning line’ to help create a consistent format to lessons.”
