Last week Year 7 and 8 had a brilliant morning taking part in our Winter Sports Day. The activities they were able to take part in were, hockey, football, rugby, handball, volleyball and indoor athletics. Fist place went to Trueman in Year 7 and Bremner in Year 8, but well done to all students who took part.

As part of our Careers and Aspirations programme, Year 10 had a brilliant week on Work Experience recently. They organised their own placement, most choosing something that interested them, and became fully involved in that industry. It was an opportunity for them to develop some employability skills, whilst learning what the world of work is actually like. We had students helping out in schools, nurseries, hotels, hospitals, coffee shops, golf clubs, hair salons, gyms, football clubs, and everyone came back having had an amazing time. Wetherby High School hosted their annual talent show this week. The children performing had been through auditions and then practiced hard to get their acts polished for the live performance. We had singing, dancing, trampolining and much more. There were some nerves beforehand, but you could not tell once they were on stage. They all performed brilliantly. It was wonderful to see how much support the performers received from their peers in the audience. A lot of cheering and singing and clapping along. On Wednesday December 7th Endeavour students from the radio club visited the Tempo FM studios in the centre of Wetherby. We got to look around the different studio rooms and take part in a live broadcast. The presenters Peter Issatt and Alan Everard let us introduce ourselves on radio and give shout outs to friends, family and some of our coaches. We also read out the weather forecasts, announced forthcoming Christmas events and introduced the songs that we had got to pick for ourselves. It was lovely to welcome our Year 11 students back to school to receive their GCSE results. The excitement in the room was so wonderful to experience, and the happiness on the student's faces was a joy to see. We are so proud of all of our students and we wish them luck as they start their Post-16 endeavours.
